Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: flathead screwdriver, multimeter, and replacement battery (CR2450).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe environment, and all electronic systems are off.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob casing at the seam.
  • Be cautious not to damage the plastic casing during this process.
3. Inspect and Replace Battery
  • Remove the old battery and check for any corrosion or debris in the battery compartment.
  • Use a multimeter to check the voltage of the new battery to confirm it is functional.
  • Insert the new battery, ensuring the correct orientation (+ side facing up).
4. Reassemble Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together firmly until they click into place.
  • Check for any misalignment that could indicate a poor seal.
5. Reprogram the Key Fob
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position without starting the engine.
  • Press and hold the unlock button on the key fob for approximately 10 seconds.
  • Turn the ignition OFF and remove the key. Test the fob functionality.
