After completing the repair, verify that the issue has been resolved:

  • ✓Test the affected component to ensure it functions correctly
  • ✓Check for any error codes or warning lights
  • ✓Monitor the vehicle for a few days to ensure the issue does not recur

Prevention Tips

To prevent this issue from occurring again:

  • •Follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule
  • •Address warning signs early before they develop into major issues
  • •Use quality parts and fluids recommended for your vehicle
  • •Keep detailed records of all repairs and maintenance

Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves.
2. Inspect Brake Fluid Level
  • Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir.
  • Check the fluid level; it should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks.
  • If low, add the recommended brake fluid (DOT 4 or as specified in the owner's manual).
3. Check for Leaks
  • Visually inspect brake lines, calipers, and wheel cylinders for any signs of fluid leaks.
  • If leaks are found, replace the affected components (lines, calipers, etc.).
4. Bleed the Brakes
  • Use a brake bleeder kit to perform a brake bleed.
  • Start from the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (usually the rear passenger side).
  • Have an assistant pump the brake pedal several times, then hold it down while you open the bleeder valve until fluid flows out. Close the valve and repeat until no air bubbles are present.
  • Move to the next wheel (rear driver side, front passenger side, front driver side) and repeat the process.
5. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads and Rotors
  • Remove the wheel to access the brake assembly.
  • Inspect the brake pads for thickness; replace if they are below the manufacturer’s minimum specification.
  • Check the rotors for grooves, warping, or significant wear. Resurface or replace if necessary.
6. Verify Brake Booster Operation
  • With the engine running, press and hold the brake pedal. If the pedal sinks gradually, the brake booster may be faulty and should be replaced.
