Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts: brake cleaner, torque wrench, socket set, jack and jack stands, runout gauge, and new brake pads/rotors if necessary.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface, and wear safety glasses.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle, depending on where the problem is suspected.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands to ensure stability.
3. Remove Wheels
  • Use a socket set to remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels to access the brake components.
4. Inspect and Replace Brake Components

a. Inspect Brake Rotors

  • Use a runout gauge to measure rotor runout. If it exceeds specifications, replace the rotors.
  • Clean the rotor surface with brake cleaner.

b. Replace Brake Pads

  • Remove the caliper by unbolting it and support it with a hanger.
  • Remove old brake pads and install new ones, ensuring they are seated correctly.
5. Reassemble
  • Reattach the caliper and torque bolts to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Reinstall the wheels and torque lug nuts to the specified value.
6. Lower the Vehicle
  • Carefully remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
