Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the vehicle.
2. Check and Replace Fuel Filter
  • Locate the fuel filter (typically found along the fuel line or under the vehicle).
  • Use a socket set to remove any mounting bolts or clamps.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines carefully, having a rag ready to catch any spilled fuel.
  • Install the new fuel filter in the same orientation as the old one and reconnect the fuel lines securely.
  • Reattach any mounting bolts or clamps and ensure everything is tight.
3. Clean Throttle Body
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body using a socket set.
  • Carefully detach the throttle body from the intake manifold (take note of the gasket).
  • Spray throttle body cleaner into the throttle body and use a soft cloth or brush to gently scrub away carbon deposits.
  • Reinstall the throttle body with a new gasket and reattach the air intake duct.
4. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  • Remove the ignition coils by unscrewing the bolts and gently pulling them out.
  • Take out the old spark plugs using a spark plug socket and inspect their condition.
  • Replace with new spark plugs, ensuring they are gapped correctly (usually around 0.025-0.030 inches for BMW).
  • Reinstall the ignition coils and secure them with the bolts.
