Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool and park the vehicle on a level surface.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues.
2. Drain Coolant
  • Tools Required: Drain pan, socket set, pliers
  • Position the drain pan under the radiator drain plug.
  • Open the drain plug and allow the coolant to completely drain into the pan.
3. Replace Damaged Components

A. Coolant Reservoir

  • Tools Required: Socket set, new coolant reservoir (if damaged)
  • Disconnect the hoses from the coolant reservoir.
  • Remove the mounting bolts and carefully lift out the reservoir.
  • Install the new reservoir by reversing the removal steps and reconnecting the hoses.

B. Hoses and Clamps

  • Tools Required: Pliers, new hoses and clamps (if damaged)
  • Inspect each hose for cracks, bulges, or leaks.
  • Remove the damaged hoses using pliers and replace them with new ones.
  • Secure new clamps tightly but avoid over-tightening.

C. Water Pump

  • Tools Required: Socket set, new water pump (if leaking), gasket or sealant
  • Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner.
  • Unbolt the water pump from the engine and remove it.
  • Clean the mounting surface and install the new water pump with a new gasket or sealant.
  • Reinstall the serpentine belt.

D. Radiator

  • Tools Required: Socket set, new radiator (if damaged)
  • Detach the upper and lower hoses from the radiator.
  • Remove the mounting bolts and lift the radiator out of the engine bay.
  • Install the new radiator by reversing the removal steps and reconnecting the hoses.
4. Refill Coolant
  • Tools Required: Funnel, new coolant (refer to owner’s manual for specification)
  • Fill the coolant reservoir with the appropriate coolant mixture.
  • Start the engine and let it reach operating temperature while checking for leaks.
5. Final Checks
  • Ensure all components are securely fastened and there are no visible leaks.
  • Reconnect the battery.
