Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts necessary for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working.
2. Identify the Source of Leak
  • Transmission Pan Inspection
    • Remove the underbody shield (if equipped) using a socket set.
    • Clean the area around the transmission pan to prevent contamination.
    • Inspect for cracks or damage to the pan. If damaged, proceed to replace the pan.
  • Check Transmission Gasket
    • If the pan is intact, inspect the gasket for wear.
    • Remove the bolts securing the pan and carefully lower it. Replace the gasket if it shows wear.
3. Replace or Repair Leaking Components
  • Transmission Cooler Lines
    • Inspect all cooler lines for leaks. If any are damaged, replace them.
    • Disconnect the lines using a wrench, and install new lines with appropriate torque specifications.
4. Reassemble and Refill
  • Reinstall the Transmission Pan
    • Clean the mating surfaces of the pan and transmission.
    • Apply a new gasket or RTV silicone sealant as per manufacturer specifications.
    • Reattach the pan using a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to the specified torque (typically 8-10 Nm).
  • Refill Transmission Fluid
    • Using a funnel, refill the transmission with the appropriate type of fluid (refer to owner’s manual).
    • Start the engine and cycle through the gears while checking fluid levels using the dipstick.
