Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, transmission jack, clutch alignment tool, pry bar, and OBD-II scanner.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on electrical systems.
  • Lift the vehicle using jack stands and secure it properly.
2. Remove the Components
  • Remove the front underbody cover and any protective shields.
  • Detach the driveshaft by removing the bolts connecting it to the transmission.
  • Disconnect the gear shifter linkage and any electrical connectors to the transmission.
  • Remove the transmission mount bolts and support the transmission with a transmission jack.
3. Remove the Transmission
  • Unbolt the transmission from the engine block, ensuring to remove all bell housing bolts.
  • Carefully lower the transmission with the jack and remove it from the vehicle.
4. Replace the Clutch
  • Remove the pressure plate by unbolting it from the flywheel.
  • Take out the old clutch disc and inspect the flywheel for any damage or scoring. Resurfacing the flywheel may be required.
  • Install the new clutch disc onto the flywheel using a clutch alignment tool.
  • Position the new pressure plate over the clutch disc and torque the bolts to manufacturer's specifications (typically around 25-30 Nm).
5. Reinstall the Transmission
  • Carefully lift the transmission back into place using the jack, aligning it with the engine.
  • Reinstall all bell housing bolts, ensuring they are torqued to the specified value.
  • Reconnect the gear shifter linkage and any electrical connectors previously disconnected.
6. Reassemble
  • Reattach the driveshaft and secure it with bolts.
  • Install the front underbody cover and any protective shields.
  • Reconnect the battery.
