Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Torx screwdriver (T20)
    • Clean cloth or vacuum
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Ensure the vehicle is turned off and keys are removed from the ignition.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove compartment and remove all items inside.
  2. Locate the two stops on either side of the glove compartment; gently press in on both sides to allow the glove compartment to drop down.
  3. Use a Torx screwdriver to remove the screws securing the filter access cover (typically located behind the glove compartment).
  4. Carefully detach the access cover to expose the cabin air filter.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Pull the old cabin air filter straight out of the housing. Note the orientation of the filter for proper installation of the new one.
  2. If necessary, use a clean cloth or vacuum to clean any debris or dust from the filter housing.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Position the new cabin air filter according to the airflow direction indicated on the filter (usually marked with arrows).
  2. Insert the new filter into the housing firmly until it is seated properly.
  3. Reattach the filter access cover and secure it with the Torx screws removed earlier.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  1. Lift the glove compartment back into place and press the sides to re-engage the stops.
  2. Replace all items back into the glove compartment.
