Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench, fluid catch pan.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the engine is cool. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical shorts.
2. Replace TCC Solenoid
  1. Remove Transmission Pan:

    • Place a fluid catch pan underneath the transmission.
    • Remove the bolts securing the transmission pan using a socket set.
    • Carefully lower the pan and drain the fluid.
  2. Access and Remove TCC Solenoid:

    • Locate the TCC solenoid; refer to the service manual for specific location details.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid.
    • Remove the retaining bolts or clips securing the solenoid.
    • Carefully lift out the solenoid from its housing.
  3. Install New TCC Solenoid:

    • Position the new TCC solenoid in place and secure it with bolts or clips.
    • Reconnect the electrical connector ensuring it clicks into place.
3. Reinstall Transmission Pan and Fluid
  1. Clean Pan and Gasket Surface:

    • Clean the transmission pan and the mating surface on the transmission to remove any old gasket material.
  2. Reinstall Transmission Pan:

    • Place a new gasket on the pan and align it properly.
    • Reinstall the transmission pan and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
  3. Refill Transmission Fluid:

    • Use the correct type of transmission fluid as specified in the owner's manual.
    • Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature, then check the fluid level and add as necessary.
