Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Replace Spark Plugs
  1. Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  2. Disconnect the ignition coils from the spark plugs.
  3. Use a spark plug socket to remove the old spark plugs.
  4. Inspect the new spark plugs for proper gap and install them into the cylinder head.
  5. Reconnect the ignition coils and secure the engine cover.
3. Replace Ignition Coils (if necessary)
  1. Remove the ignition coils from the engine after disconnecting the electrical connectors.
  2. Install new ignition coils ensuring they are seated properly.
  3. Reconnect electrical connectors securely.
4. Clean or Replace MAF Sensor
  1. Disconnect the MAF sensor from the air intake duct.
  2. If cleaning, spray MAF sensor cleaner onto the sensor element and allow it to dry.
  3. If replacing, install the new MAF sensor by reversing the removal process.
5. Inspect and Clean Throttle Body
  1. Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body.
  2. Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the throttle plate and surrounding area.
  3. Reinstall the air intake duct securely.
6. Check and Repair Vacuum Leaks
  1. Inspect all vacuum lines for cracks and disconnections; replace any damaged hoses.
  2. Use a smoke machine if available to detect hidden leaks.
