Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, fuel pressure gauge, multimeter, socket set, screwdriver set, torque wrench.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Access Fuel Pump
  • Remove the rear seat cushion or trunk lining to access the fuel pump access panel.
  • Use a socket set to remove the screws or bolts securing the access panel.
  • Carefully lift the access panel to expose the fuel pump assembly.
3. Remove Old Fuel Pump
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump by pressing the release tab.
  • Detach the fuel lines from the pump, using caution to avoid fuel spillage.
  • Unscrew the retaining ring or bolts securing the fuel pump to the tank using a socket set.
  • Carefully lift the fuel pump assembly out of the tank, ensuring no debris falls into the tank.
4. Install New Fuel Pump
  • Place the new fuel pump into the tank, ensuring the O-ring or gasket is correctly seated.
  • Secure the fuel pump with the retaining ring or bolts, tightening to manufacturer specifications (typically around 15-20 Nm).
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and electrical connector to the new fuel pump.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Replace the access panel and secure it with screws or bolts.
  • Reinstall the rear seat cushion or trunk lining.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position (without starting the engine) to prime the fuel system, and check for leaks around the fuel pump.
