Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts: OBD-II scanner, brake fluid, brake bleeder kit, socket set, wrench set, and a vacuum pump (if needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off and the parking brake engaged.
2. Inspect and Refill Brake Fluid
  • Sub-step 2.1: Open the hood and locate the master cylinder reservoir.
  • Sub-step 2.2: Check the brake fluid level; if low, clean the reservoir cap and remove it.
  • Sub-step 2.3: Add the appropriate type of brake fluid (DOT 4) until the level reaches the "FULL" mark.
  • Sub-step 2.4: Replace the cap securely to prevent contamination.
3. Bleed Brake System
  • Sub-step 3.1: Start from the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (right rear).
  • Sub-step 3.2: Attach the brake bleeder kit to the caliper bleeder valve and open the valve.
  • Sub-step 3.3: Have an assistant press the brake pedal several times, then hold it down.
  • Sub-step 3.4: Close the bleeder valve and instruct the assistant to release the brake pedal.
  • Sub-step 3.5: Repeat this process in the following order: right rear, left rear, right front, left front.
  • Sub-step 3.6: Monitor the fluid level in the master cylinder and refill as necessary during the bleeding process.
4. Inspect and Replace Brake Components (if necessary)
  • Sub-step 4.1: If issues persist, visually inspect the brake lines and hoses for any wear or cracks.
  • Sub-step 4.2: Check the brake pads and rotors for excessive wear; replace them if they are below manufacturer specifications.
  • Sub-step 4.3: If the brake booster is suspected to be faulty, check for vacuum leaks and consider replacing it.
