Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for repair.
  • Ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Place a catch pan under the vehicle to collect any remaining coolant.
2. Identify and Repair Leak Source

a. Coolant Reservoir Replacement

  • Remove the old coolant reservoir by disconnecting the hoses and unscrewing any mounting bolts.
  • Install the new reservoir by securing it with bolts and reconnecting the hoses.

b. Hose Replacement

  • If any hoses are damaged, use pliers to remove the clamps and disconnect the hoses.
  • Install new hoses by ensuring they are properly aligned and secured with clamps.

c. Water Pump Replacement

  • Drain the coolant by opening the drain plug.
  • Remove the drive belt from the water pump.
  • Unbolt the water pump and replace it with a new unit, replacing the gasket as well.
  • Refill the system with coolant.

d. Radiator Replacement

  • Drain the coolant and remove the upper and lower hose connections from the radiator.
  • Unscrew the radiator mounting bolts and remove the radiator from the vehicle.
  • Install the new radiator and reconnect the hoses securely.
3. Refill Coolant System
  • After all repairs, refill the cooling system with the manufacturer-recommended coolant.
  • Bleed the cooling system to remove trapped air by running the engine with the cap off until the thermostat opens and coolant circulates.
