Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Oil filter wrench
    • Socket set
    • Oil catch pan
    • Funnel
    • Clean rags
    • Replacement oil filter
    • Engine oil (as recommended in the owner's manual)
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
    • Allow the engine to cool before starting the procedure.
2. Drain Engine Oil
  • Place the oil catch pan under the oil pan.
  • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket wrench and allow the old oil to drain completely.
  • Replace the drain plug and tighten to manufacturer specifications (typically around 25 Nm).
3. Remove Old Oil Filter
  • Use the oil filter wrench to loosen the old oil filter.
  • Carefully remove the filter, allowing any remaining oil to drain into the catch pan.
  • Clean the area around the oil filter mount with a clean rag.
4. Install New Oil Filter
  • Apply a small amount of new engine oil to the rubber O-ring of the new oil filter to ensure a proper seal.
  • Screw the new oil filter onto the filter mount by hand, tightening it until snug (do not over-tighten).
5. Add New Engine Oil
  • Open the hood and remove the oil filler cap.
  • Using a funnel, pour the recommended amount of new engine oil into the engine.
  • Replace the oil filler cap securely.
6. Check Oil Level
  • Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the new oil.
  • Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes.
  • Check the oil level with the dipstick; add more oil if necessary to reach the proper level.
