Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Power steering fluid, funnel, turkey baster or fluid transfer pump, jack and jack stands, safety goggles.
  • Raise the front of the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface.
2. Remove Old Fluid
  • Use a turkey baster or fluid transfer pump to remove old power steering fluid from the reservoir.
  • Dispose of the old fluid properly.
3. Fill the System
  • Using a funnel, fill the power steering reservoir with the appropriate power steering fluid as specified in the owner's manual.
  • Note: Do not overfill; ensure the fluid is at the correct level.
4. Bleed the System
  • Start the engine and let it idle.
  • While the engine is running, turn the steering wheel slowly from lock to lock (full left to full right) several times. This action helps push air out of the system.
  • Monitor the fluid level in the reservoir during this process, adding more fluid as needed to maintain the proper level.
  • Continue bleeding until no air bubbles are visible in the reservoir and the steering operates smoothly without noise.
5. Final Check
  • Turn off the engine and check the fluid level again, topping off if necessary.
  • Inspect for any leaks around the power steering pump and lines.
