Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Inspect Power Steering System
  • Step 1: Remove the power steering reservoir cap and check the fluid level.
  • Step 2: If low, add the recommended power steering fluid (check owner's manual for specifications).
  • Step 3: Inspect hoses and connections for leaks. Replace any damaged components.
3. Replace Serpentine Belt (if worn)
  • Step 1: Locate the serpentine belt tensioner and relieve tension using a wrench.
  • Step 2: Remove the serpentine belt from the pulleys.
  • Step 3: Install the new serpentine belt following the routing diagram located near the engine bay.
  • Step 4: Reapply tension to the belt tensioner.
4. Inspect/Replace Power Steering Pump (if necessary)
  • Step 1: Remove any components obstructing access to the power steering pump.
  • Step 2: Disconnect the power steering lines using the appropriate wrenches.
  • Step 3: Remove the pump mounting bolts and take out the pump.
  • Step 4: Install the new pump, reconnect lines, and refill the power steering fluid.
