Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials: vacuum cleaner, cabin air filter, disinfectant spray, and a flashlight.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a well-ventilated area.
2. Remove Cabin Air Filter
  • Open the glove compartment and disconnect any retaining stops to allow it to hang down.
  • Remove the cabin air filter cover and take out the old cabin air filter.
  • Inspect the area for debris or mold.
3. Clean and Disinfect
  • Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any loose debris from the cabin air filter housing.
  • Spray a disinfectant solution into the housing and on the evaporator core area to kill any mold or mildew.
  • Allow the disinfectant to sit for the recommended time according to the product instructions.
4. Install New Cabin Air Filter
  • Insert a new cabin air filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly based on airflow direction markings.
  • Reattach the cabin air filter cover.
  • Restore the glove compartment to its original position.
5. Check A/C Drainage
  • Locate the A/C drain tube under the vehicle and ensure it is not clogged. Clear any obstructions if present.
  • Test the drainage by running the A/C and checking if water is dripping from the drain tube.
