Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, screwdrivers.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in park (automatic) or neutral (manual) and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Battery Terminal Cleaning
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.
    2. Clean the battery terminals and cable ends with a wire brush to remove corrosion.
    3. Reconnect the positive terminal first and then the negative terminal securely.
3. Starter Motor Replacement (if faulty)
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
    2. Locate the starter motor (usually near the transmission).
    3. Disconnect the battery again before proceeding.
    4. Remove the electrical connections from the starter (one or two connectors).
    5. Unbolt the starter motor using the appropriate socket size.
    6. Remove the starter and replace it with a new or reconditioned unit.
    7. Reconnect the electrical connections and bolt the starter back in place.
4. Ignition Switch Replacement (if necessary)
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Remove the steering column cover by unscrewing the screws.
    2. Disconnect the ignition switch wiring harness.
    3. Remove the retaining screws and pull out the ignition switch.
    4. Install the new ignition switch and reconnect the wiring harness.
    5. Reassemble the steering column cover.
