Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts (negative terminal first).
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down if it has been running.
2. Check and Replace Transmission Fluid
  1. Fluid Check:

    • Locate the transmission dipstick (if applicable).
    • Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, and reinsert to check the fluid level.
    • If low, add the appropriate transmission fluid as specified in the owner’s manual.
    • If fluid is dirty or burnt, proceed to replacement.
  2. Fluid Replacement:

    • Raise the vehicle securely on jack stands.
    • Place a drain pan underneath the transmission pan.
    • Remove the transmission drain plug (if equipped) or the transmission pan bolts.
    • Allow old fluid to completely drain out.
    • Remove the transmission filter and replace it with a new one.
    • Clean the transmission pan and replace the gasket.
    • Reinstall the pan and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
    • Refill the transmission with new fluid through the dipstick tube.
3. Inspect and Repair Transmission Components
  1. Internal Inspection (if necessary):

    • If slipping persists, consider removing the transmission for internal inspection.
    • Check for worn clutches, bands, or other internal components.
    • Replace any damaged or worn parts as necessary.
  2. Reinstall Transmission:

    • If the transmission was removed, reinstall it while ensuring all bolts are torqued to specifications.
    • Reconnect all electrical connectors and linkages.
