1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked safely and the ignition is off.
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, new CR2032 battery (if replacement is needed).
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the key fob casing at the seam.
  • Carefully separate the two halves of the fob without damaging the internal components.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old CR2032 battery from the key fob.
  • Install the new battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing upwards as indicated within the fob.
  • Reassemble the key fob by snapping the two halves back together securely.
4. Reset the Key Fob
  • Insert the key fob into the ignition slot and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Leave it in the "On" position for approximately 10 seconds.
  • Turn the key back to the "Off" position and remove it from the ignition.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds and then test the key fob functions.
5. Test the Key Fob
  • Test the lock/unlock buttons to ensure they are functioning.
  • Verify that the engine starts with the key fob in the vehicle.
