Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, oil catch pan, rags, UV dye (if needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery before working on electrical components.
2. Identify and Replace Seals/Gaskets
  • Oil Filter:

    • Remove the oil filter using an oil filter wrench.
    • Inspect the rubber O-ring for damage; replace if necessary.
    • Install a new oil filter, tightening it to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Valve Cover Gasket:

    • Remove ignition coils and spark plugs (if needed) for access.
    • Unscrew the valve cover bolts and gently lift off the valve cover.
    • Clean the mating surfaces and replace the valve cover gasket.
    • Reinstall the valve cover and torque the bolts to the specified value.
  • Oil Pan Gasket:

    • Drain the engine oil into an oil catch pan.
    • Remove the oil pan bolts and carefully detach the oil pan.
    • Clean the surfaces thoroughly and install a new oil pan gasket.
    • Reinstall the oil pan and torque the bolts to the specified value.
  • Front Crankshaft Seal:

    • Remove the crankshaft pulley and timing cover (if applicable).
    • Replace the front crankshaft seal with a new one.
    • Reassemble components ensuring all are torqued to specifications.
3. Final Assembly
  • Refill the engine with the appropriate type and amount of engine oil.
  • Reconnect the battery.
