Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
2. Remove the Airbag
  • Using a Torx screwdriver, remove the screws holding the airbag in place, located at the back of the steering wheel.
  • Disconnect the airbag connectors carefully.
  • Place the airbag in a safe location, facing up.
3. Remove the Steering Wheel
  • Mark the position of the steering wheel on the column for accurate reinstallation.
  • Use a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel from the column.
  • Disconnect any remaining electrical connectors from the steering wheel.
4. Remove the Column Covers
  • Unscrew and remove the upper and lower steering column covers using a Torx screwdriver.
  • Keep the screws in a safe place for reinstallation.
