Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool down before starting work.
2. Remove the Engine Cover
  • Use a socket set to remove the bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift off the cover and set it aside.
3. Access the Knock Sensor
  • Locate the knock sensor, typically found on the engine block or cylinder head.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the knock sensor.
4. Remove the Knock Sensor
  • Use a socket or wrench to unscrew the knock sensor from its mounting location.
  • Inspect the old sensor for any physical damage or signs of wear.
5. Install the New Knock Sensor
  • Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring of the new knock sensor for better sealing.
  • Screw in the new knock sensor by hand and then tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque (usually around 15-20 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector securely.
6. Reinstall the Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back in position.
  • Secure it with the previously removed bolts, ensuring they are tightened properly.
7. Reconnect the Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Start the engine and check for any abnormal noises.
