Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
2. Replace Fuel Pump
  1. Access Fuel Pump

    • Raise the vehicle securely using jack stands.
    • Remove the rear seat cushion to access the fuel pump access panel (if applicable).
    • Remove the access panel to expose the fuel pump.
  2. Disconnect Fuel Lines

    • Use a fuel line disconnect tool to carefully detach the fuel lines from the pump.
    • Be prepared with a rag to catch any residual fuel.
  3. Remove Fuel Pump Assembly

    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
    • Remove retaining ring or screws holding the fuel pump assembly in place.
    • Carefully lift the fuel pump assembly out of the tank.
  4. Install New Fuel Pump

    • Install the new fuel pump in reverse order of removal.
    • Ensure all seals and O-rings are replaced to prevent leaks.
    • Reconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines securely.
3. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall the access panel and secure the rear seat cushion.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and check for fuel leaks around the fuel pump assembly.
