Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Needed:
    • Wrench set
    • Brake fluid
    • Clean cloths
    • Brake line repair kit (if necessary)
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues while working on the brake system.
2. Addressing the Leak Source

A. Brake Fluid Reservoir

  • If the reservoir is leaking:
    1. Remove any mounting bolts and disconnect the fluid lines.
    2. Replace the reservoir with a new unit.
    3. Reconnect and secure all lines, ensuring tight fittings.

B. Brake Lines

  • If the brake lines are damaged:
    1. Cut out the damaged section of the brake line using a pipe cutter.
    2. Install a new section of brake line using a brake line repair kit.
    3. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free.

C. Brake Calipers

  • If calipers are leaking:
    1. Remove the wheel to access the caliper.
    2. Remove caliper mounting bolts and detach it from the rotor.
    3. Replace any faulty seals or the entire caliper if necessary.
    4. Reinstall the caliper and ensure proper torque on the bolts.

D. Master Cylinder

  • If the master cylinder is leaking:
    1. Disconnect the brake lines and unbolt the master cylinder from the firewall.
    2. Replace the master cylinder with a new unit.
    3. Reconnect the brake lines and bleed the brake system to remove air.
3. Refill and Bleed Brake System
  1. Refill the brake fluid reservoir with the appropriate type of brake fluid.
  2. Use a brake bleeder tool to bleed the brake system, starting from the wheel farthest from the master cylinder.
