Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdrivers, cleaning cloths, throttle body cleaner, safety goggles, gloves.
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove the Throttle Body
  1. Remove the engine cover by unscrewing any fasteners.
  2. Disconnect the air intake duct by loosening the clamps and pulling it off the throttle body.
  3. Disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the throttle body.
  4. Unscrew the throttle body mounting bolts using a socket wrench.
  5. Carefully pull the throttle body away from the intake manifold.
3. Clean the Throttle Body
  1. Spray throttle body cleaner onto a clean cloth or directly onto the throttle body surfaces.
  2. Use a soft brush or cloth to scrub the inside of the throttle body, focusing on the throttle plate and surrounding areas.
  3. Wipe down all surfaces until all carbon deposits and grime are removed.
  4. Ensure that the throttle plate can open and close freely without obstruction.
4. Reinstall the Throttle Body
  1. Position the throttle body back onto the intake manifold.
  2. Reinstall the mounting bolts and torque them to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 10-15 Nm).
  3. Reconnect any electrical connectors that were previously disconnected.
  4. Reattach the air intake duct and secure it with the clamps.
  5. Reinstall the engine cover.
5. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Start the engine and let it idle to ensure smooth operation.
