Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical shorts.
2. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Socket set, flathead screwdriver.
  • Remove the glove compartment by unscrewing the screws and gently prying it down.
  • Locate the cabin air filter housing and remove the cover.
  • Pull out the old cabin air filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring proper orientation.
  • Reassemble the glove compartment.
3. Recharge A/C System
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, refrigerant (R-134a or R-1234yf depending on model specifications).
  • Connect the manifold gauge set to the low and high-pressure service ports of the A/C system.
  • Start the engine and turn the A/C system to the maximum setting.
  • If low on refrigerant, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines to add refrigerant until proper pressure is achieved.
  • Disconnect the gauge set and ensure all caps are securely replaced on the service ports.
4. Inspect and Replace A/C Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, A/C compressor removal tool.
  • Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
  • Remove any mounting bolts securing the A/C compressor.
  • Using the A/C compressor removal tool, detach the compressor from the mounting bracket.
  • Install the new A/C compressor, ensuring all connections are tight and secure.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector and recharge the A/C system.
