Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench.
  • Disconnect the battery and allow the vehicle to sit for at least 15 minutes to ensure all electrical systems are powered down.
2. Replace EPS Fuse (if blown)
  • Locate the EPS fuse in the fuse box.
  • Remove the blown fuse using a fuse puller.
  • Insert a new fuse of the same amperage rating.
  • Reconnect the battery and test the EPS system.
3. Repair or Replace Power Steering Motor
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench.
  • Remove any components obstructing access to the EPS motor.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the EPS motor.
  • Unscrew and remove the EPS motor from the steering column.
  • Install the new or repaired EPS motor, ensuring all bolts are torqued to manufacturer specifications.
  • Reconnect the wiring harness.
4. Refill and Bleed Power Steering Fluid
  • Locate the power steering fluid reservoir and remove the cap.
  • Fill with the recommended power steering fluid type.
  • Start the engine and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to bleed air from the system.
  • Check fluid level again and top off if necessary.
5. Calibration of Steering Angle Sensor
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner.
  • Connect the scanner to the vehicle’s OBD-II port.
  • Access the EPS system settings and follow the prompts to calibrate the steering angle sensor.
  • Save and exit the calibration settings.
