Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Jack and jack stands
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Strut spring compressor
    • Pliers
    • Screwdrivers
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues while working on the vehicle.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use the jack to lift the front or rear (as needed) of the vehicle.
  • Secure it on jack stands to ensure stability while working.
3. Remove Wheel
  • Using the socket set, remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel to access the strut assembly.
4. Remove the Strut Assembly
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the upper strut mount bolts and lower strut bolts.
    2. Remove the upper bolts from the strut tower; keep them in a safe place.
    3. Remove the lower bolts connecting the strut to the steering knuckle.
    4. Carefully detach the strut assembly from the vehicle.
5. Replace Strut Assembly
  • If replacing the strut, use a strut spring compressor to safely remove the spring from the old strut.
  • Install the new strut by reversing the steps used to remove it:
    1. Secure the new strut to the steering knuckle and tighten the lower bolts.
    2. Position the strut in the strut tower and secure it with the upper bolts.
6. Reassemble Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands using the jack.
  • Torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
7. Final Check
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Ensure all tools are removed from the work area.
