Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles for protection.
2. Remove the Brake Fluid Reservoir Cap
  • Carefully remove the cap of the brake fluid reservoir.
  • Check the fluid level and condition. If contaminated, clean or replace the reservoir.
3. Inspect and Replace Damaged Components

A. Brake Lines

  • Tools Required: Wrench set, brake line cutter.
  • Inspect for any signs of corrosion or damage.
  • If damaged, use a brake line cutter to remove the affected section.
  • Replace with new brake line tubing, ensuring all connections are properly tightened.

B. Brake Calipers and Wheel Cylinders

  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench.
  • Remove the wheel to access the brake calipers.
  • Inspect for fluid leaks around the caliper seals.
  • If leaking, remove the caliper and replace the seal or the entire caliper if necessary.

C. Master Cylinder

  • Tools Required: Socket set, brake fluid.
  • Check for leaks around the master cylinder.
  • If leaking, remove the master cylinder by disconnecting the lines and unbolting it from the brake booster.
  • Replace with a new master cylinder and reattach all components.
4. Refill and Bleed the Brake System
  • Tools Required: Brake fluid, bleeding kit or clear tubing.
  • Refill the brake fluid reservoir with the recommended brake fluid type.
  • Bleed the brake system starting from the furthest wheel from the master cylinder, ensuring no air is left in the lines.
