Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Open the engine compartment and secure it with the prop rod.
  • Gather necessary tools: clean cloth, flashlight (optional).
2. Locate and Inspect the Brake Fluid Reservoir
  • Identify the brake fluid reservoir, which is typically located near the driver's side of the engine bay, near the back of the engine compartment.
  • Use a flashlight if necessary to get a better view.
  • Clean the area around the reservoir cap with a cloth to prevent contamination.
3. Check Brake Fluid Level
  • Remove the cap of the brake fluid reservoir by twisting it counter-clockwise. Be careful not to introduce dirt or debris into the reservoir.
  • Visually check the fluid level against the markings on the side of the reservoir; it should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" lines.
  • If the fluid is below the "MIN" line, it needs to be topped off.
4. Assess Fluid Condition
  • Inspect the color and clarity of the brake fluid. It should be a clear, light amber color. If it appears dark or murky, it should be replaced.
  • If required, proceed to replace the brake fluid (instructions for fluid replacement can follow in a separate guide).
5. Reassemble
  • After checking the fluid level and condition, replace the cap on the reservoir securely by twisting it clockwise.
  • Close the engine compartment securely.
