Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety during repairs.
2. Clean Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, socket set.
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a soft cloth and wipe the throttle plate and inside of the throttle body.
  • Ensure there is no carbon buildup obstructing the throttle plate's full movement.
  • Reinstall the air intake duct securely.
3. Test Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
  • Tools Required: Multimeter.
  • Disconnect the TPS connector.
  • Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the TPS terminals while moving the throttle plate manually.
  • Compare readings to manufacturer specifications (consult service manual).
  • Replace the TPS if readings are out of specifications.
4. Inspect and Replace Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor
  • Tools Required: Socket set, trim removal tools.
  • Remove any trim or covers that obstruct access to the accelerator pedal position sensor.
  • Disconnect the sensor from the wiring harness.
  • Install the new sensor by reversing the removal steps.
  • Ensure the sensor is calibrated according to manufacturer specifications.
