Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles.
  • Tools Required: Brake fluid, socket set, wrench set, OBD-II scanner, brake bleeder kit.
2. Inspect and Replace Brake Fluid
  • Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir.
  • Check the fluid level; if low, add the recommended brake fluid type (DOT 4 or as specified in the owner's manual).
  • If the fluid appears contaminated or has absorbed moisture, drain and replace it.
3. Check for Leaks
  • Inspect all brake lines for signs of fluid leakage.
  • Examine the brake calipers and the master cylinder for any signs of wear or damage.
  • Replace any damaged components as necessary.
4. Bleed the Brake System
  • Attach a brake bleeder kit to the brake bleeder valve on each caliper, starting with the one furthest from the master cylinder.
  • Open the bleeder valve and have an assistant press the brake pedal several times, then hold it down.
  • Close the bleeder valve while the pedal is held down, then release the pedal.
  • Repeat the process until no air bubbles are present in the fluid.
  • Move to the next caliper and repeat until all calipers are bled.
5. Test the Brake Booster
  • With the engine off, pump the brake pedal several times to deplete the vacuum in the booster.
  • Hold the pedal down and start the engine; the pedal should sink slightly if the booster is functioning correctly.
  • If there is no change, the brake booster may need replacement.
