Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery if working on electronic components.
2. Remove and Replace Worn Components

a. Strut Assembly

  1. Remove Wheel: Use a jack to lift the vehicle and remove the wheel for access.
  2. Disconnect Brake Line: Carefully detach the brake line from the strut (if applicable).
  3. Unbolt Strut: Remove the bolts connecting the strut to the knuckle and the upper strut mount.
  4. Replace Strut: Install the new strut, ensuring proper alignment and torque specifications (typically 40-60 Nm).
  5. Reattach Brake Line: Secure the brake line back to its original position.

b. Control Arm Bushings

  1. Remove Control Arm: Unbolt the control arm from the chassis and the wheel hub.
  2. Replace Bushings: Press out the old bushings and press in new ones using a bushing tool.
  3. Reinstall Control Arm: Bolt the control arm back in place, following torque specifications.

c. Sway Bar Links

  1. Remove Sway Bar Links: Unbolt the sway bar links from the sway bar and control arm.
  2. Replace Links: Install new sway bar links, ensuring they are tightened to the manufacturer’s specifications.
3. Reassemble and Lower Vehicle
  1. Reinstall Wheel: Put the wheel back on and tighten lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  2. Lower Vehicle: Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground.
  3. Reconnect Battery: If previously disconnected, reconnect the battery.
