Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials: throttle body cleaner, soft cloths, a small brush, and a socket set.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical issues.
2. Remove Air Intake Hose
  • Use a socket set to loosen and remove the clamps securing the air intake hose to the throttle body.
  • Gently pull the air intake hose off the throttle body and set it aside.
3. Remove Throttle Body
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body by pressing the release tab and pulling it away.
  • Remove any mounting bolts securing the throttle body using the appropriate socket size.
  • Carefully lift the throttle body off the intake manifold, ensuring no debris falls into the manifold.
4. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto the throttle plate and the interior surfaces of the throttle body.
  • Use a soft cloth or small brush to scrub away carbon deposits and dirt.
  • Open the throttle plate manually to clean behind it, ensuring all surfaces are clean.
  • Wipe off any excess cleaner and debris with a clean cloth.
5. Reinstall Throttle Body
  • Position the cleaned throttle body back onto the intake manifold.
  • Reinstall the mounting bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer's specified torque (usually around 10-15 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the throttle body.
6. Reattach Air Intake Hose
  • Slide the air intake hose back onto the throttle body and secure it with the clamps.
  • Ensure that the hose is properly seated and there are no air leaks.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery and ensure it is securely fastened.
