Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, fuse puller, screwdriver set, and wiring connectors if needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is turned off.
2. Check and Replace Radio Fuse
  • Locate the fuse box; it is typically found under the dashboard on the driver’s side or in the engine compartment.
  • Remove the cover and identify the radio fuse using the diagram on the inside of the cover.
  • Use a fuse puller to remove the fuse and inspect it for continuity.
  • If blown, replace it with a fuse of the same amperage (usually 10A or 15A, check the vehicle's manual).
  • Reinstall the fuse box cover securely.
3. Inspect Wiring Connections
  • Remove the radio unit from the dashboard by unscrewing the mounting brackets.
  • Carefully disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the radio.
  • Inspect both the wiring harness and the radio connectors for corrosion, damage, or loose connections.
  • Clean any corroded contacts with electrical cleaner and reconnect securely.
4. Test Voltage Supply
  • Set the multimeter to measure DC voltage.
  • With the radio harness still disconnected, probe the power wire (usually red) and ground wire (usually black).
  • Turn the ignition to the "On" position and check for approximately 12 volts at the power wire.
  • If there is no voltage, trace the wiring back to the fuse box for issues.
5. Reinstall Radio
  • If all checks are satisfactory, reconnect the radio wiring harness.
  • Secure the radio back into the dashboard using the mounting brackets.
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery if it was disconnected during the process.
