Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Funnel (if using fill plug)
    • Clean lint-free cloth
    • Socket set (for fill plug removal, if applicable)
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is running to get an accurate reading.
2. Checking Transmission Fluid Level via Dipstick (if applicable)
  1. Locate the transmission dipstick, usually found near the back of the engine bay.
  2. Pull the dipstick out and clean it thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.
  3. Reinsert the dipstick fully into the tube and remove it again to check the fluid level.
  4. Inspect the fluid condition; it should be reddish in color and free of debris or burnt smell.
  5. If the level is low, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube using a funnel.
3. Checking Transmission Fluid Level via Fill Plug (if no dipstick)
  1. Locate the fill plug on the side of the transmission.
  2. Use the appropriate socket to remove the fill plug.
  3. Insert your finger into the fill hole; the fluid should touch the bottom of your finger.
  4. If fluid is not present, add the recommended transmission fluid through the fill hole until it begins to trickle out.
  5. Reinstall the fill plug and torque it to the manufacturer’s specifications.
