Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: a small screwdriver (for opening the fob) and a multimeter.
  • Ensure you are in a location with minimal electronic interference.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use the small screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob casing.
  • Be gentle to avoid damaging the clips or the plastic casing.
3. Inspect and Replace Battery
  • Remove the old battery and inspect the terminals for corrosion or debris.
  • Insert the new battery (CR2032) ensuring the correct orientation (positive side facing up).
  • Ensure the battery is seated properly and that the contacts are clean.
4. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob casing and press them together until you hear a click.
  • Ensure there are no gaps between the halves indicating it is securely closed.
5. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit in the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine) and then back to "OFF."
  • Repeat this process 5 times, ending with the key in the "ON" position on the 5th turn.
  • After this, press any button on the key fob within 20 seconds to complete the programming.
