Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, coin, replacement battery (CR2032), multimeter (optional).
  • Ensure the vehicle is turned off and parked safely.
  • Remove any jewelry that could snag while working.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use a small flathead screwdriver or a coin to gently pry open the key fob.
  2. Carefully separate the two halves of the fob without damaging the internal components.
  3. Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly.
  4. Install the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  5. Reassemble the key fob by aligning the two halves and pressing them together until they click.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed and the key fob in hand.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (not starting the engine).
  3. Press and hold the "Lock" button on the fob for about 5 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition to "OFF" and then back to "ON" again.
  5. Repeat the process (turning on and off) while pressing the "Lock" button to reset the fob.
  6. Exit the car, and test the fob to see if it is functioning properly.
