Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts for the repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the engine is cool.
2. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  • Remove the ignition coil(s) using a socket set.
  • Unscrew and remove the spark plugs with a spark plug socket.
  • Inspect for wear, carbon buildup, or damage. Replace with new spark plugs if necessary.
  • Torque new spark plugs to the manufacturer's specification (usually around 13-15 lb-ft).
  • Reinstall the ignition coil(s).
3. Test and Replace Fuel Pump (if needed)
  • Locate the fuel pump access panel (if available) or remove the rear seat to access the pump.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines from the pump.
  • Remove the fuel pump assembly, taking care to note the orientation.
  • Test the pump with a fuel pressure gauge; replace if the pressure is below specifications.
  • Install the new pump and reconnect fuel lines and electrical connectors.
4. Clean or Replace Air Filter and MAF Sensor
  • Remove the air intake duct to access the air filter.
  • Replace the air filter if it is dirty or clogged.
  • For the MAF sensor, spray a specialized MAF cleaner on the sensor element (do not touch the sensor).
  • Reinstall the air intake duct securely.
