Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: AC refrigerant recovery machine, manifold gauge set, refrigerant (R-1234yf).
  • Locate the low-pressure service port on the AC system.
  • Attach the manifold gauge set and check the current pressure.
  • If low, connect the refrigerant canister to the low-pressure port and follow the manufacturer's guidelines to recharge the system.
3. Replace AC Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, gasket scraper, refrigerant oil.
  • Disconnect the battery and recover the refrigerant from the AC system.
  • Remove the front bumper and any components obstructing access to the AC compressor.
  • Disconnect electrical connectors and refrigerant lines from the compressor.
  • Unbolt the compressor from its mounting bracket and remove it.
  • Install the new compressor, ensuring proper alignment and torque specifications.
  • Reconnect all electrical connections and refrigerant lines, applying new O-rings where necessary.
  • Recharge the refrigerant as described above.
4. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: None.
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel, usually behind the glove box.
  • Remove the panel and take out the old filter.
  • Install the new cabin air filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
5. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the battery terminals and ensure they are tightened.
