Solution
1. Preparation
  1. Park the vehicle on a flat surface and turn off the engine.
  2. Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  3. Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues during the process.
2. Check and Refill Power Steering Fluid
  1. Locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
  2. Remove the cap and check the fluid level; it should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks.
  3. If low, add the recommended power steering fluid (Toyota ATF type T-IV or equivalent) until it reaches the proper level.
  4. Replace the cap securely.
3. Inspect and Replace Power Steering Pump
  1. If the noise persists, locate the power steering pump.
  2. Remove the serpentine belt using a socket to release tension on the tensioner pulley.
  3. Disconnect the power steering fluid lines from the pump; use a drain pan to catch any fluid.
  4. Unbolt the pump from the mounting bracket using the appropriate socket.
  5. Install the new power steering pump by reversing the removal steps; ensure all bolts are torqued to manufacturer specifications (usually around 18-22 ft-lbs).
  6. Reconnect the power steering fluid lines and the serpentine belt.
4. Bleed the Power Steering System
  1. Refill the power steering fluid reservoir to the proper level.
  2. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel slowly from lock to lock several times to purge air from the system.
  3. Check the fluid level again and add fluid as necessary.
