Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Manifold gauge set
    • Multimeter
    • Socket set
    • Screwdriver set
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
    • Wear safety glasses and gloves during repairs.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  1. Connect Manifold Gauges: Attach the high and low side gauges to the AC service ports.
  2. Check Pressures: Compare the readings with manufacturer specifications. If pressures are low, proceed to recharge.
  3. Add Refrigerant: Using a refrigerant can with a gauge, add the appropriate type of refrigerant (usually R-134a) until pressures are within the normal range.
  4. Monitor Operation: Start the engine and turn on the AC to check for proper cooling after recharge.
3. Replace AC Compressor (if needed)
  1. Remove Drive Belt: Use a socket set to loosen the tensioner and remove the serpentine belt from the AC compressor.
  2. Disconnect Electrical Connectors: Unplug any electrical connections attached to the compressor.
  3. Remove AC Lines: Using the appropriate wrenches, disconnect the refrigerant lines from the compressor.
  4. Unbolt Compressor: Remove the mounting bolts securing the compressor to the engine bracket and take out the compressor.
  5. Install New Compressor: Position the new compressor in place, secure it with mounting bolts, and reconnect refrigerant lines and electrical connectors.
  6. Reattach Drive Belt: Reinstall the serpentine belt over the AC compressor pulley.
4. Replace Cabin Air Filter (if needed)
  1. Locate Cabin Air Filter: Find the cabin air filter compartment, usually under the dashboard or behind the glove compartment.
  2. Remove Old Filter: Unclip or unscrew the cover and take out the old filter.
  3. Install New Filter: Place the new cabin air filter in the compartment, ensuring it is oriented correctly as per the airflow direction.
