Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft brush, lint-free cloth.
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner on the inside of the throttle body.
  • Use a soft brush to gently scrub away carbon deposits.
  • Wipe clean with a lint-free cloth and reattach the air intake duct.
3. Inspect and Clean the Idle Air Control Valve
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver.
  • Locate the idle air control valve (usually near the throttle body).
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the valve using the socket set.
  • Inspect the valve for carbon buildup; clean if necessary using throttle body cleaner.
  • Reinstall the valve and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Replace the Engine Air Filter (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: None; just a replacement air filter.
  • Open the air filter housing and remove the old air filter.
  • Install a new air filter, ensuring it fits snugly and seals properly.
5. Check Fuel Quality
  • If the fuel is old or contaminated, drain the fuel tank and refill with fresh, high-quality fuel.
