Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: Small flathead screwdriver, CR2032 key fob battery, multimeter (optional).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit area.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use the small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob. Insert the screwdriver in the seam and twist gently to separate the two halves.
  2. Remove Old Battery:

    • Take note of the battery orientation (positive and negative sides). Remove the old battery from its compartment.
  3. Install New Battery:

    • Insert the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation as the old battery. Ensure it is seated properly in the compartment.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they click into place.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Sit in the driver's seat with all doors closed. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine) and then back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds.
  2. Confirm Programming Mode:

    • Once in programming mode, the locks should cycle to indicate readiness for programming.
  3. Program Key Fob:

    • Press any button on the key fob within 30 seconds. The locks should cycle again to confirm successful programming.
  4. Exit Programming Mode:

    • Turn the ignition key to "ON" and then back to "OFF" to exit programming mode.
