Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cooled down.
  • Disconnect the battery if working on electrical components.
2. Identify and Repair Leak Source

A. Oil Filter Replacement

  • Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, oil catch pan.
  • Remove the oil filter using the oil filter wrench.
  • Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter.
  • Install the new oil filter by hand, then tighten according to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually hand-tight plus a quarter turn).

B. Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, gasket scraper.
  • Remove any necessary engine covers to access the valve cover.
  • Unbolt the valve cover, then gently lift it off and remove the old gasket.
  • Clean the mating surfaces on both the valve cover and engine.
  • Place the new gasket on the valve cover, then reinstall and tighten bolts to the specified torque.

C. Oil Pan Gasket Replacement

  • Tools Required: Jack and jack stands, socket set, torque wrench.
  • Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands.
  • Drain the engine oil using the oil catch pan.
  • Unbolt the oil pan and gently pry it off, removing the old gasket.
  • Clean both surfaces thoroughly, then apply a new gasket.
  • Reinstall the oil pan and torque the bolts to the specified values.

D. Crankshaft Seal Replacement

  • Tools Required: Puller tool, socket set, torque wrench.
  • Remove any components obstructing access to the crankshaft seal.
  • Use a puller tool to remove the old seal.
  • Lubricate the new seal with oil and press it into place.
  • Reassemble any components removed.
