Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the replacement.
  • Ensure the engine is cool to avoid burns.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Remove any screws or clips securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift the cover to access the ignition coils and spark plugs.
3. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil.
  • Remove the bolts securing the ignition coils using a socket wrench.
  • Carefully pull the ignition coils out of the spark plug wells.
4. Replace Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to remove the old spark plugs by turning counterclockwise.
  • Inspect the threads in the cylinder head for debris or damage.
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs (if applicable).
  • Install new spark plugs by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 13-15 ft-lbs).
5. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Reinsert the ignition coils into their respective wells.
  • Secure them with the bolts previously removed and reconnect the electrical connectors.
6. Reattach Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back and secure it with screws or clips.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
