Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, and a new cabin air filter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and turned off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety (optional).
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the glove compartment and open it fully.
  2. Remove any contents from the glove compartment to clear the area.
  3. Locate the two stops on either side of the glove compartment and gently press them inward to allow the glove compartment to drop down.
  4. Remove the screws or clips securing the lower panel if present (some models may have additional clips).
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter cover, which is typically on the backside of the glove compartment area.
  2. Press the tabs or remove the screws securing the filter cover.
  3. Carefully pull out the old cabin air filter from its housing, noting its orientation for the new filter installation.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Insert the new cabin air filter into the housing, ensuring it is oriented correctly (check for airflow direction arrows).
  2. Reattach the filter cover by snapping it into place or securing it with screws.
  3. Lift the glove compartment back into position and secure any clips or screws that were removed.
5. Final Steps
  1. Reinstall any items removed from the glove compartment.
  2. Reconnect the negative battery terminal if it was disconnected.
  3. Close the glove compartment.
