Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the job.
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket, ratchet, extension bar, anti-seize compound, dielectric grease.
  • Parts Required: New spark plugs (refer to owner’s manual for specifications).
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Using the socket set, remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift and remove the cover from the engine bay.
3. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Locate the ignition coil connectors above each spark plug and carefully disconnect them.
  • Remove the bolts holding the ignition coils using the socket set.
  • Gently pull the ignition coils out to expose the spark plugs.
  • Use the spark plug socket and ratchet to carefully unscrew each spark plug from the cylinder head.
4. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of each new spark plug to prevent seizing.
  • Carefully thread each new spark plug into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading.
  • Use the torque wrench to tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 13-15 lb-ft for most spark plugs, but confirm in the manual).
5. Reinstall Ignition Coils and Connectors
  • Reinsert the ignition coils over the new spark plugs and secure them with bolts.
  • Reconnect the ignition coil connectors, ensuring they click into place.
  • If applicable, reattach the engine cover and secure it with bolts.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tight.
