Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Wrench set
    • Screwdriver set
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Vacuum gauge (if necessary)
2. Inspect and Replace Brake Booster (if faulty)
  1. Disconnect the Battery

    • Disconnect the negative terminal to prevent any electrical issues during repair.
  2. Remove the Brake Booster

    • Remove the master cylinder from the brake booster by unbolting it (usually 2-4 bolts) while ensuring brake fluid does not leak out excessively.
    • Detach the brake booster from the firewall, normally held by 2-3 mounting bolts.
    • Carefully pull the brake booster out of the vehicle.
  3. Install New Brake Booster

    • Position the new brake booster into place and secure it to the firewall with the mounting bolts (use torque specifications from the service manual).
    • Reattach the master cylinder to the brake booster and tighten the bolts securely.
3. Check and Refill Brake Fluid
  • After replacing the brake booster, check the brake fluid reservoir and refill it with the recommended brake fluid type (DOT 3 or DOT 4 as specified in the owner’s manual).
4. Bleed the Brake System
  • Bleed the brake lines to remove any air bubbles:
    • Start with the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (usually the rear passenger side).
    • Use a helper or a brake bleeder kit to open the bleeder valve while pressing the brake pedal and close it before releasing the pedal.
    • Repeat for all wheels, ending with the closest to the master cylinder.
